From 2009. I've heard it said that the 5Dmk2 cannot autofocus. It is a little slow but ....

Awesome perspective! Great background and this shot really shows the profile of the bill well. You might consider some dodging around the eyes so that they stand-out more.

    Grace:

As one who has had real problems with head on skimmer shots, I really appreciate this shot!

Sharp, strong, simple graphic lines, works very well.

Like the blue upper BG, which I see repeated in the blue white of the feathers.

That looks to be about as much 'pop' as you realistically can see in a skimmers eyes.

Well done, and fits the theme perfectly.\

    Cheers

Grace, you did a great job with this one. I have several coming at me, but have never liked one enough to process it. HOpe that changes this season.

I agree with you on the 5D. If you have a subject which doesn't fly too fast, the AF works just fine.

The BG on this one really stands out, the colors as well as the graduation of same.

Grace, this is great for all the reasons already noted and, personally, because I tried hard to get this image last year to no avail so seeing it here gave me a big smile. TFS and congrats!

    Cheers,
    Katie

Wow, well done. Perfect image for the theme. From profile images one would never guess the bill is so razor thin. Cool gradient BG, and I love the comp. Wings cut at the perfect place.

Very nice. I like the composition and the way you can see how razor thin the bill is.

Fantastic image...I love the sharp pointy bill and the pastel 2 tone BG....Amazing how central it is and the DOF on the head looks very good
