    Default Gold finch

    Nikon D60, F.5, 1/640, ISO-200, 300 mm f.4.

I have not seen this bird during the whole winter and when it came I just had to take pictures although the background does not feel quite right. I would be happy to know what you think does the background spoil the image of the bird.

    with kind regards

What a beautiful bird, super sharp and well exposed. Even his perch is nice with the lichen. Persnally, I would amend that background to eliminate the bright spot in the right corner and the smudge to the left of his tail. The color of it competes with the bird somewhat but does not ruin the image by any means.

Thanks for sharing, I've never seen this bird before and you've done well.

You captured a stunning bird in a great pose with good angle. Your exposure is on the money and you have nice details in the feathers.

The UR BG issues distracts me a tad more than the LL one. However, it's a personal choice whether you wish to make such adjustments in your post processing.

Looking forward to more of your work.

Beautiful bird!! Exposure, details, and colours all look great. I love the BG colour too...now, if only the UR was filled-in with red that would have been great. If your post-processing ethics allow it you can do so rather easily...

Careful with some of the yellows clipping the right side of the histogram too...

Hi Patricia, a beautiful bird and image. You have captured a nice head turn with good eye contact. Detail and exposure is excellent and I love the colours. Agree the bright area in the URC could be changed.TFS.

I really wish I was good at fixing backgrounds but I am not. I use photoshop nr 7 and I don't really know how too fill in the red. I know nothing about how to do layers. Here in sweden we do not manipulate our images much. Sometimes I try to remove a tvigg or something like that and I think the image always look messy when I do it.

    with kind regards

I like the perch, pose and complimentary BG. I agree with the others on filling in the UR. Nice image Patricia!

This is truly amazing picture. The sharpness might be the most impressive. Wish we had these birds up in the north too. :)
