Sharpness isnt very good in this one as the duck was in motion. Should have used higher iso.

    All comments welcome.

About as good as it gets. Great low angle, water color, details in whites and blacks and good eye contact.

It's a tiny bit soft at both extreme ends of the drake, but for 1/250 with him in motion, that's impressive IQ.

Great BG color, and the water FG is as good as it gets.

Do you have these spots ID'd where you can consistently get so low to the water, Kaustubh?

Yes, most of my low angle shots are from a three different ponds( that are within 15 min driving so I can quickly go and do an hr-or-two of shooting). There are some nice low flat spots there and I pick (ponds as well as spots) based on whether its morning or evening. These are all common ducks in the winter so they do come within my reach. There are many small ponds in urban sprawl that DFW metroplex is...so am sure there are many such spots that I am unaware of :-) There are a few good birding wetlands (with lots of nice species) here too where I go frequently, but hard to pull of such duck shots there with 400mm. Group flight shots is the best that I get there :-) on a good day :-)

Another fine image in this series Kaustubh, techs have been covered. I like the different BG in this one which changes the mood of the image.

Top quality as usual Kaustubh! I like the low angle, shapness and sweet BG.
