Just back from a series of workshops in S. Texas and the NANPA convention. Lots of fun, met many great people and took a ton of images.
Here's one of an endimic Woodpecker to the Rio-Grande Valley, TX. We worked on flight shots of many species and had a blast doing it.
This is marvelous, Alan - I totally agree with the comments above. That workshop
sounds wonderful - in-flight shots are a real challenge! Wonderful work!

Alan, this is quite stunning. rarely do we see woodpecker(of any kind. and this is a rare one) shots like this one. great angle, BG, wing spread, open bill, sharpness....your usual very high standards.
Incredible shot Alan - I am always impressed and amazed at how you are able to capture these types of in-flight shots. I once spent two full days in a blind staking out a Northern Flicker nest in a tree hollow trying to get an in-flight shot of the bird with the full spread of underwing plumage (just as you have done here) - the birds would be in and out about every 10 or 15 minutes giving me many opportunities and I was still never able to get anything that approached this. Again - very impressed!
