Default Burrowing Owl expelling an Owl Pellet

There's plenty I wish were better about this image, but It's a nice behavioral capture. This was during our first Burrowing Owl outing during the SW Florida IPT last week:

    Canon 1DsMII, 600mm f/4L, f/4, ISO 200, 1/4000, fairly harsh light, off monopod.

Wow, you certainly manage the situation very well, I wonder what is the owl eating?

Well done Bob. The mid-tones look quite dark to me. JC, the owl is not eating anything right now. It is vomiting up a bolus, a pellet consisting of the indigestible parts of stuff it had eaten previously.

    ps: I like the flowers.

    Hey Bob,

Not sure about this one.... I do have to agree with Artie about the mid-tones.

Love the behavior you captured here and the oof flowers are a plus. Wish the oof grasses weren't in front of the feet, but hard to avoid that at the owls' nests. Nice low perspective and the tan bg is attractive. The dark midtones will be easy to fix.
