    Default Late Afternoon Northern Harrier

    Here's one from the Bosque last November. I had great luck with a couple of Harriers over the span of a couple of days. This image was taken in some sweet late afternoon light.

    Doug;

    Beautiful light, full up wings, tucked in tail and talons, slight head turn, BG.

    Head looks the slightest bit less sharp than the wing.

    Cheers

    Good flying posture Doug, with good underwing detail. Exquisite light and colours, eye contact, and nicely separated from the BG. Well captured.

    Doug, a beautiful image. As for sharpness, I have found that the feathers around their head that help them hear so well tend to give them a softer look. (Pane 2 comment) Only small things that I can see that might tweak this fine image a bit would be to tone the bright spot upper right corner and separate the beak a bit from the background. Thanks for sharing this!

    A killer shot with great tones in the BG. I would consider doing a slight blur on the BG.

    Nice afternoon light as mentioned , like the feather detail and the intense hunting stare.

    Doug, I love the beautiful yellow/gold bg, it complements the Harrier really well and of course you captured all the other important elements as well.

    Cheers,
    Katie
