    Default Acorn Woodpecker

The day I shot this, I was quite determined to get a photograph of an Acorn Woodpecker with an acorn. I had collected a couple dozen perfect acorns and started squirreling around my set-up perches in hope that a woodpecker would come by and pick one up. I had several woodpeckes come in for suet, but try as I might, I couldn't get one to take an acorn with him...

    Jeff:

He is pretty cute even without an acorn!

Sharp, well exposed, nice angle in frame, BG, all good.

I assume their 'whites' are slightly gray, esp. on the breast

    Cheers
