    Default Eagles bonding.

    Canon 7D, Canon 500mm f/4L, 1/1000" @ f/4, ISO 400, manual mode, tripod, overcast.

Even though the pair of Eagles I follow are raising three chicks right now (4-9 days old) they still renew their bond with each other. They didn't actually mate but they went through the motions this morning. I was set up in a viewing tower across a canal from the nest sight and it offers a great view of them when they perch on this branch. Fortunately it's one of the males favorite perches but I found the female there when I arrived....the male eventually joined her.

Superb capture, Duane. Excellent detail, colors and exposure.
    Is this the NBG pair?

Fantastic image Duane! The behavior captured, the sharpness, the eye contact, the spread wings, the habitat, and the visible talons are all first rate.

I don't think it gets any better than this, Duane. The color balance, exposure, detail, interaction,
setting, and overall composition are perfect, in my opinion. Congratulations!

Great shot Duane! Most shots like this seem to be against blue sky - I really like the pine tree environment you have here. Pose is perfect and the feather detail looks great. The image does seem to have a bit of a yellow cast on my monitor.

This capture rocks for all reasons already stated above. Congrats on a real winner and capturing some amazing behavior that many of us never have an opportunity to witness.

I agree about the yellow cast Jeff now that I look at it this morning. I delt with a red cast last night so I will adjust the WB on the re-edit. I have a bad habit of warming things up too much when it's overcast because my images lack any color in those conditions.

I'm not sure the exact distance I was from these Eagles but the crop (after rotating the image 12 degrees CW) is straight up and down of the frame and it was taken as a landscape.

I questioned the bg in this image being too busy and I would love to capture this in an open environment but these Eagles prefer woods in general and do not perch out in the open much...I'm not making excuses but this is their environment and they love Pine trees.

Thank you all for the critiques.

Repost with the yellow cast removed.

Incredible capture, Duane. Perfect exposure and sharpness. I have no problem with the BG. I think the repost looks a bit reddish but that could be my monitor.

Very nicely captured Duane, super sharp, nice wing position on the male and lovely light and colours. My only comment would have been on the bg, as you mention, maybe a bit too busy.
