    Default Red fox & vole

Took this a few weeks ago on a very gray dreary day and though I wished for better light this really was a sight to behold. This red fox played with this poor little vole throwing him up in the air and catching him repeatedly, one time getting him stuck in the tree branches. Finally he finished toying with this little guy and ate him for lunch.

Wonderful action. Snow flakes and vole in the air adds to the punch.

You have managed to capture a great sense of the event. Well done.

His mom should have taught him not to play with his food. You know I love this shot, Gen...really has it all.
I do not think that the light (or lack there of ) is much of an issue here.

Great behaviour and action captured. However, slow shutter speed resulting in blurred image weaken this IMHO.

Good action captured and I like the snow on the nose.

    Amazing capture!
The slow SS is somewhat problematic, as is having the ISO at 1250 on a D300.
Guess you were kind of "stuck" (assuming the aperture was wide open)...

This is the sort of image I really like , a great action shot showing interesting behaviour.

Certainly a good way to build up your appetite.

A definite wow moment to be captured ...

I can only assume you were not aware of your settings at the time of capture as sometimes happens when you carried away by the moment.. as the techs shows neither a bias towards a blur or freezing the action.

An all around WINNER! Enter it in one of the big nature contests.
Looks sharp all around...must have had the lens pointed down when snowing-lol

    Be well my friend,

    Chas

late to the party here Gen, lovely action here! I agree I would either have liked it with a tad less movement or with more (combined with a critical point of sharpness), but as is I would still love having this in my gallery
