Default Bald Eagle Attack - Photo Merge

No sure if this is the place for a composite, but I thought I'd throw it out here. Originally 8 images. Ran through PS on Photomerge, and then masked out the images of the eagles that wings covered heads, etc. Does this work for folks? Nikon d300, 500mm f4.

The poor eagle on the bottom ended up a wet mess.

Matt, this does not work for me. Biggest problem for me is the dull light and the messy shore. Couple that with all the birds and action and it's not pleasing to my eye. Sorry! I hate to dis someone's work, but you did ask. :)

It is certainly interesting to me. The first two frames look pretty spectacular. I am confused by the 8 frames.... How many of those had birds in them??? It would seem that the logical answer is 3.... I'd love to see either or both of the first two parts of the attack (going from left to right) as stand-alone images. Feel free to post either or both here.

There is so much drama happening here that it can be a bit confusing to the eye. As Artie points out, the first two frames look pretty fantastic and perhaps each could stand alone. The middle one if my favorite.
I wonder if you could pull out more detail in the wings too.

Thanks for the honest critique. I really like to know what people think.

The other images had only the attacking eagle in it as I panned because the other one was left in the water, and it seemed to throw things out of balance. I did need the background in some of the other images so I didn't have to fake it.

I'll repost the 2 eagles and try to bring some more detail out.

Thanks for helping me work out this image.

There is a lot going on here Matt and I applaud you for pushing the envelope. I am thinking there might be enough drama in single frames to make this work. Looking forward to your post on that.

Doesn't work for me either, but can appreciate the work you put into it. Look forward to more too.

    Matt,

I like the composite. The first frame in particular could also stand on its own. I would title it: Eagle Surfing.

    Nice job.

I would like to see the first two groups; it is an easy crop between group two and group three.

I would like to see just the first frame as a stand alone.
    Cheers, Jay

First of all, I want to say Thanks for all the input. I've been struggling with this image and trying to figure out what to do with it.

I've made the recommended tweaks, and re-posted. I did not do a single image as I don't feel the quality of the image is that good. Looking for something a little unique to play with.

I do like the double exposure, and I did lighten up the shadows abit. The light is flat and unappealing, and I can't do anything about that.

Thanks again for all the assistance.
    Matt
