Doing the Happy Dance! part 1

I've been away, and am so far behind! This image photographed last week while on Jim Neiger's boat during Jim's & James Shadle's "Best of Florida" workshop.

    Why I like this image:
This flight image has eluded me for the past year ... (I only got the butt). I've since been dreaming & practicing photographing these flight images, and hence this very happy camper doing the "Happy Dance" while on Jim's boat!

    What I would change:
It would be nicer if the flight was more toward me, and with the head not "going away".

Many thanks to Jim Neiger, and also Hi! to fellow participants Ned, Rob & Jack, and also to the second half of the workshop with James Shadle, Fabs and Alfred. It was a BLAST ... I had so much fun!

Thank you for looking, and for all your tips & helpful comments.

Great light, details and BG. I agree on your own critique regarding the bird flying away from you.

The ISO 1600 seems to have worked out ok for you. Looking forward to seeing more of your images from our Best of Florida trip.

Very cool. A head turn or better flying angle would put it over the top.

Hey Brian, I love it as is, even with the bird flying away a bit. It's the wing position that makes it work in this case... I love the BKGR. The yellow feet might be a bit over-SAT.

later and love and glad that you had fun on a BAA-Approved trip!

    Hi Brian -

I don't blame you for doing "the happy dance". Very nice image with beautiful background and color.l It would have been great if the bird had flown more parallel to you, but this image still works well. Congrats.
