During our trip to South American 2009-10, we went to a private Estancia that had a condor breeding area. If you went with a group you had to stay at a palacial hut about 1/2 mile from the breeding grounds. But, if you went on a private outing, you were driven to the top of the mountain above the condors, and then you climbed down about 1/4 mile to place yourself on top of the condor's nests.
In the image there is a pointed bit of rock in the center, and slight lower down there is a rounded rock before you go further to the edge.
I was standing on that bit of rounded rock to shoot this Eagle image (http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...e-Barrel-Eagle)
The face actually continues around to the right and there are several more outcroppings with condor nests.
When the eagle was shot it was grey and overcast in the morning; in the afternoon the sun came out and we had a lovely horseback ride down the mountain. This image was HH while on my horse.
