    Gary:

This is a neat head/neck position for a red head. Usually they are pretty well tucked in.

Sharp, well exposed. Have the sense it needs a sliver of CW rotation, neck might be throwing me off.

Was this one through the fence?

I could see a mild crop up from the bottom.

    Cheers

Thanks Randy, Yes now that I am looking at it again I agree with the crop suggestion. Yes this was through the fence, I think my bones are just now getting warm
They were doing a lot of talking to each other.

Did you have to do any extra sharpening? Could you even tell it was shot through the fence, if you hadn't known?

I would think the contrast might be a bit softer, but it doesn't show in your image.

Excellent Randy! Yes a little extra sharpening. The main issue is there is such a small window to shoot through to get the good shot. But, the lower angle to me is worth it. The biggest advantage is if you stay below the fence line you can move with little disturbance to the birds. In fact, the Wood Ducks came back twice flew onto the top of the fence looked down at me and then noticed I was there. They were about 15 feet away. Bufflehead came back but never was in the sun New ideas will hopefully bring new rewards.

Hi Gary, I like both the low angle and angle of the duck. This guy has lovely colours, and agree a touch of CW rotation wont harm this, together with the crop.

Gary, Looks great I like the curious look to him, It's always nice to get low I wish they would make some sort of area for the photographers to shoot low there.

Thanks Ron, it does offer some challenges there.

Funny Randy talks about contrast because my first thought was that the blacks could use a bit more punch.

Neat pose and beautiful breeding colours. I saw and photogrpahed my first Redhead up here last fall and the colours were not even close to what you have here. I too could see abit of a crop from below.

Sounds like you guys have a great spot there!!
