Wow! Wonderful image. The image conveys a strong connection to the viewer and there is an incredible amount of emotion conveyed in those eyes. Well done.

    Chas,

I am amazed your last post was remarkable but this has taken it a stage further, even if that should not really be possible.

    Truly wonderful

    Chas, magnificent!

The IQ from your full sensor is over the top; I will be very interested in the 1D4s.

You seem to specialize in these guys Chas, superb portrait of this pair.
Mum's nurturing and baby's eye contact are very evocative.

    Jay,

Thanks! But, in truth you cannot really judge from an image at this size, dpi, compression, etc. Remember I went through no less than 6 1Ds MIII bodies before being satisfied with this one, and that was after further tweaking. IMO the 1Ds III does in fact produce a better overall quality image when conditions fit over the MIV.

Of course knowing how to make the most of the image captured helps the cause

I will see you one of these days-

    Chas

Superb image, Chas. You have beautifully portrayed the bond between these two. Those eyes are amazing.

P.S. Glad your trip took place before the recent tragedies.

Wow Chas! It's all there on this one - the light, detail, eye contact. This image conveys a strong sense of intimacy. Well done. I am curious as to how far away you are from the monkeys. I see that you used a 70-200 but you didn't indicate the focal length of the shot.

    Rachel,

You can get close enough for full frame 24mm images. Mom and baby taken with 200mm, as they are less tolerant when nursing.

My heart and prayers are with the wonderful Japanese people!

An endearing and well executed image, with truck loads of impact and detail. Very pleased you shared this one.

BTW Did you bump into Dave Courtenay when you were there Chas?
