    last Friday was the perfect day for IR photography ... sunny sunny sunny

    This is how the Venice Rookery looks in IR .....

    20d IR converted + 17-85mm @ 17mm + polarizer

    David,

    I think the composition is very well thought out. The FG grass frame and follow the island and the BG foliage right up to the right FG grass being higher/denser than the remaining FG grass just like the BG foliage. I think the expansive black sky is too large. I know you are probably trying to keep the horizon out of the middle but I think in this case it is OK. I recropped it to see what I thought and decided to post.

    Let me know what you think.

    I like the tighter crop First thing that came to mind !!! Interesting I did not even think about having the horizon in the center It just looked good !!!!

    One other point With Robert's crop besides looking better it seems to have change the overall density just by eliminating a large dark area !!! Neat !!!
