    Default Grebe eating her perch!!!

This one was not going down well :D
She dropped it twice, every time getting it back before she lost it completely.
    Too large to swallow!

    Both taken at 800mm with a 7D

    1st image exif:
    Exposure Time = 1/1250"
    F Number = F5.6
    ISO Speed Ratings = 640

    2nd image exif:
    Exposure Time = 1/1000"
    F Number = F5.6
    ISO Speed Ratings = 2000

Light was dreadful and the Grebe was very far away so please excuse the quality of the first shot. The portrait shot was taken when the Grebe came much closer.

    Michael:

No wonder she couldn't swallow it!
Exposure looks good in both images, IQ suffering as mentioned in #1, but still a shot I would have taken to document the behaviour.

I like #2 better, because of the IQ, and general level of detail. Nice texture and drops.

If you have it, I would prefer a little more body below.

Please only post one distinct image per thread. Reposts of the same image are great, but not two separate images. Occ. more than one image is acceptable if it is a teaching thread, illustrating a particular tech. point, but generally no.

    A beautiful, if frustrated, bird!

    Cheers

Thanks for the commends Randy and apologies for the 2 images, I should read the rules better next time!

I have a bit more of the body for the 2nd one but not much as it was too close for the 800mm lens (first time for a Grebe to be too close!).
