Hi everyone. I'm originally from the US, but I live in Vancouver. I'm a novice birder and an advanced amateur photographer. Have had a few minor successes with my bird photography, most recently coming in as runner-up in the Encyclopedia of Life Images Photo Contest for Endemic species with my photo of a takahe in New Zealand:
My most memorable birding experience was seeing the scarlet ibises return to roost on their one tree at the Caroni Swamp Bird Sanctuary in Trinidad.
Birding and photography are only a couple of my many interests and occupations, so I might not be all that active here, but we'll see. I'm also a computer techie, writer, teacher, etc.
