Very good use of flash, love the sharpness, exposure, the feather details, background and the fluffy pose. I may crop a bit more off the top and bottom, but that's my personal taste.

Beautiful bird, soft light, perch, BKGR, and gorget. It could use some off the bottom. The only thing that bugs me is the position of the bird in relation to the broken off tip of the branch....

I like the fluffed-up pose which really shows off the great feather detail and that wonderful color in the gorget.

Fabulous detail, looks like you managed to get every bit of red lit up - a rare accomplishment. Where was the flash mounted?

Thanks everyone for the looks and comments. They are always good.

Alan I use a Wimberly II gimbal head and flash arm. I can't remember if i had the flash directly over the lens or set off to the side. I suspect i may have set the flash off to the side which you can do with the Wimberly for some additional space between lens line of sight and flash line of sight.

And I'll be darned if i can get info on what the fill flash setting was.
