As it does seem to be lion week, here is another old one from Botswana.

I know it is not the best of framing with the lioness' leg cut off but I had to adjust and shoot quickly. And these 5 were just so **** cute

Hi Per, what a great shot, the crop really lends itself to the image extremely well with cracking content. Obviously a very tolerant and relaxed lioness, judging by her pose.

Personally I think it could just benefit from a hint in Curves, moving the left slider in say 8 to 10 and a fraction more in Curves just to give it that 'pop'. I would also be tempted to run some more selective sharpening on the cubs as it really comes to life.

With something like this Per I would have been tempted to resize it to 1024px wide, to make the most of this image and allow the view a greater insight into this image. Nice one.

What a bunch of cuties, agree on your critique regarding the leg, not to sure if this could be fixed by a crop.

Per - very cute shot. I think I might crop from the bottom to just above mom's privates to deal with the foot issue. Something like this. I hope you don't mind.

Very cute indeed Per, with eye contact on all but one, agree on a small amount of sharpening on the cubs.

Thanks for the comments guys - I do think I like this crop more.

Steve - I actually tried to save this at 1024 but had to drop the quality so much, I chose to make it a little smaller (mind you, I was exporting from Lightroom rather than Saving for Web in PS)

    Hi Per-Gunnar:

What a killer grab shot. You did well capturing this amazing family portrait. My first thought was that the cubs needed a slight pop in color and like what Harshad did. Agree on a tad more sharpening of the cubs as well. Although I like the original crop, I think Rachel's may render the capture even more powerful.

    You have a winner here.
