In a local backyard recently.

D300, 300 f/4 AF-S + Kenko Pro 1.4TC. Tripod with Jobu Jr.2 gimbal.

1/1600, f5.6, ISO800

Sharpening, noise reduction, cropping in LR3 and PSE9.

Hi Richard- Well done on this one. Usually when I try one of these the head is never in focus! I like the layout of the image and the habitat, and the colour scheme is great. I wonder if you can coax any more detail out of the face/eye region? It would be nice to lighten that up a bit.

Wow, Richard, I agree with John - this is a great BIF image! Nice detail on the bird but a beautiful soft BG - super well done!
