I love this picture! The bird is very sharp and well exposed, but just as appealing as I find the bird, the water droplets are amazing. This nicely demonstrates how calm these guys are in some pretty harsh environments.
BTW I am originally from Haugesund. It is so nice to see pictures from my homeland![]()
Great image.
The only thing I think might make it "better" would have been a little motion blur to the water. Or barring that, a landscape crop showing some of the wave/impact that's causing the flying water...
Hi Geir- Very nice indeed, and of course it is OK if you've lost your EXIF data, although they are buried in the image (see attached).
The light in the image is beautiful and I love the rich brown tones of the water and the rock. The action imparted by the water droplets is very engaging and I really like that they are crisp and not blurred. I would suggest giving more room to the right so that the bird does not look like it's looking at a brick wall. I hope this makes sense. However, I would not want to see any part of the current image taken away because the splashed should stay. This would result in a looser crop but I think it might work.
Congratulations on your BPN membership. You will find it was a good move!
I love it, but I agree that as the water is such an important component of the image I would prefer a looser crop, and more water in the image.

I like it.... I agree with needing more space in the front and that the water splash really makes it shine. If mine I think I would take some of the bottom so as to move the bird from horizontal center line.

Hi Geir! I like the bird and the water drops as well, but the large blob of water above his tail is quite distracting. I was trying to figure out a way to crop this without losing the effect of the rest of the water. Perhaps making a bit of a pano crop and adding some room in front would help?
