    I love slow mornings if gulls are involved Bill!

    The light here is bright and warm. Great to see the Ring-billed Gull in breeding plumage (I know you are in S. Cal.!). I'd be interested in the processing of the image- there is an "HDR" feel to it, including the dark halo around the light parts of the bird.

    I love the lighting on the gull, and its sharpness, but for me the oof gray stuff to its left and the pale blob in front of the breast are distracting. A tighter crop, if possible, would also look better.

    William, the light here is wonderful! I like the BG, but also agree that the grey blob on the rhs is distracting. Exposure is right-on.
