    taken yesterday on the river calder in lancashire uk,very overcast weather,took with cannon 50d,400mmcannon prime lens,hand held,squatting in middle of river,1/500 sec,f5.6,iso 800,slight crop,some tweeks in ps5.thanks.comments good or bad welcome.noticed end of beak a little soft.

    I like the water drop. I might take out that one white spot beneath it and the one on tip of bill.

    Photo is nice and sharp which is often hard to do when squatting down like you must have been.

    I find the bg a bit distracting and not sure if trying for an all water bg would have been an improvement or not. I know it is quite easy for me to say since I was not there and birds are moving around.

    I also often find it tough to get the right level on photos like this, so i level off the water drop ripples, which for me would mean this needs some cw rotation.

    Very nicely exposed and colours look spot on.
