    Default Keel-billed Toucan

This image is my first sighting of a Keel-billed Toucan and most likely the first or second image of all the many I made in Costa Rica. I like the way the bird is naturally framed by the leaves and every time I look at it, the experience comes back to me. C&C encouraged and greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Neat bird out in the open. What was your EXP compensation? It looks as if some flash would have helped with the bird against the white sky. Did you have a chance to add the 1.4X TC?

Thanks, Artie, as I remember, I took this right after setting up the tripod, before attaching the flash/betterbeamer or 1.4x and then the bird moved on. EXP set manually. I have other, closer KBT images to post later.

Katie, I also like the natural frame and the placement of the bird in the frame. Great colors.

Katie, you know I love this one. The loose comp is great for my taste, and I agree about the leaves and seed pods making for a nice frame. High-key exposure looks good. All in all, a really nice and different shot of this toucan species.

Have you shared this with Nicki? I'm sure she'd be into it too

    Cheers,
    Greg

Wow I like this one alot! As mentioned, great framing by the vegetation (comp in-camera?) and I like the toucan's pose.

Excellent composition Katie! I love that it's full frame! As Artie pointed out, fill flash would have been nice. But overall one of my favorite images of yours!
