Hi Ian - XXX rated interaction - Like it :)
Exposure looks good - as do the techs - might get rid of the other birds in the BG - they do draw the eye just a little.
Like the eye contact between the birds - great overall feel to the image.

    Like it a lot.

Thanks, Lance. I debated evicting those background birds and now will have to give it a try. I'm actually happy with this image as the middle of a set of three (I didn't post the other 2 due to the 1 image limit). I have an image of the courtship immediately prior to this as well as a sweet image following copulation.

Nicely capture Ian. I like the action too. Biology is a dirty subject!!!

Great exposure, great light. Nicely sharp. Wing is the highlight.

Nice image and I really like the up-swept wing on the male. I am a big fan of avocets and find much to like here.

Despite the NR on the background, there still seems to be a pronounced grain. I don't know Noiseware Pro, but perhaps you might be able to tweak a "smoothness" slider somewhere - should you wish to reduce that grain.

Also enjoyed your subsequent posting of the two together.

Must get up to my favorite Avocet pond, soon!
