    Default DUST BATH

This huge elephant was enjoying itself thoroughly in Corbett National Park. What i found very interesting was that the dust was bypassing the opening of the ear . Is there a scientific explanation ?? Maybe the ear is designed to keep out the dust !!

Rakesh, interesting observation on the elephant ear. Perhaps coincidence? I think you've captured wonderful detail in this image, the earth flying is great and I like the bits of grass caught up in it as well. Is that another elephant in the background? Looks like it could be another trunk. A good example of animal behaviour.

Nice behavioural image Rakesh. Would have liked just a fraction more above, just for the dust elements.

Just watch out for what looks like some artifacts on the bottom curve of the trunk and leg in shadow, slight white halo.

    Rakesh,

Not to sure how the Elephant misses blowing dust into its ear, but I am sure it does, probably years of practice .

Seems to me that you have got most of the dust as it seems to quite a lazy toss of dust.

The only nit and it is relatively minor is the bits of Ellie in the background.

Love the lighting and overall detail in this dust bath, would wish for some more room on top and LHS.

Very nice detail. Really shows of the skin texture nicely. She seems to know exactly where to throw that dirt.

nicely captured Rakesh! I can't see you cropping tighter here as all the essential elements (the dust, face and curved trunk) just-just fit into the frame. I like! Artifacts noted on trunk, easy to fix.
