    hi all,

This is another image from the recent Avalon Airshow near Melbourne. These are the RAAF Roulettes, skilled airforce flight instructors who fly Pilatus PC-9 aircraft.

Nice formation with a nice blue sky to compliment the red and white of the planes...excellent prop blur while keeping the planes sharp also. I know for birds you want space to fly into, but IMO I think this comp is a little unbalanced with too much empty space in the URC. I would crop some off the top and right. Let's see some more from the show!

Dean, another good one from the show! I think I agree with Jim about the composition. I think, in this case, the empty space in the upper RHC is a bit distracting. Asking myself why, I think it is because the idea behind this formation was the symmetry and that empty spot breaks the symmetric appearance of the flight group.

    Hi Jim and Ian,

Thanks for those comments, and you are both very correct...i've clearly spent too much time composing birds in flight!

Repost attached here - had to add canvas to LHS
