    Default Andean Flicker

Taken on Late December 2010, in the Central andes of peru at about 3500m elevation.
this is a woodpecker that lives where there are no trees!
I laid as low on the ground as i could.

    Nikon D300s ISO800 Nikkor 70-300VR @300mm F8 1/800

Could anybody please tell me why when i convert my RAW to jpeg (lightroom3) the JPEGs end a little overexposed??

    Thank you guys.
    all C&C are really welcome!

    Cheers from Peru.

    Alfredo:

In Michigan, we have Northern flickers, which do spend a lot of time probing around on the ground for bugs and such.

Good exposure, def. an unusual shooting angle for a flicker.

The image quality looks a bit soft. Is this a significant crop?

I might consider cropping up just a bit from the bottom.

In regard to your question - do the raw files appear to be overexposed on the histogram? Do you have any presets for LR which could be pushing the exposure around? I generally have all the presets at the neutral position, and then adjust each image individually, rather than relying on presets.

    Cheers

    Randy
