Another guy from the archives - having a lot of fun sorting through these.

I quite enjoy the Luangwa, great park though unfortunately not the easiest place for photographers - no off-raoding here.

Got lucky one morning at the Mfuwe Wafwa.

Beautiful light and I like the placement of the lion in the frame. Wish your copyright was a bit smaller as i think it distracts from this very nice image.

Agree about the color cast (red). But a lovely placement of the animal here, Russell !

Ah yes......Sth Luangwa NP, one of my favourite places also Russell !
From memory whilst at Kaingo/Mwamba and Tafika we didn't have too many hassles with going off road, not to the extent as in RSA, but off road nonetheless.
I'm guessing the pink cast is close to what you experienced, with the setting sun always a vibrant pink colour from the dust and frequent smoke haze?
This says everything about the Sth Luangwa region, lovely comp overall. VWD

Interesting placement, which IMHO works quite well (even if it is a breach of rules).

    Colour cast allready mentioned

Nice lion shot Russell, I like the BG and the soft light, as well as the lion's expression.

Russel this is sweet! love the light, DOF and mood.
the colours could be fine - depending on how YOU remember the scene, especially as mentioned in the African dawn/dusk which can be quite a spectacle
