Ross, I love environmental wildlife images, especially ones which have a lot for us to look at.

A couple of things which detract from the overall effect of this image are the very blown highlights in the cloud at the top right as I find my eye is drawn to that rather than to the bison. The other thing which isn't a huge problem, but how nice it would have been if you could have kept the bison trail 'S' shape confined within the frame, instead of cropping it on the rhs. Probably unavoidable, unless you were able to change your position in relation to the clouds and the trail.

What ISO did you shoot at? I'm wondering if you had to use quite a bit of NR as it appears as if some detail has been lost.

Despite those things, I really like what you've tried to show here and the overall composition is really nice. TFS.

Agree with Hilary also, S trail inclusive would have been preferable.
I like what you were trying to achieve here Ross, just wondering if the grey cloud is actually cloud or smoke?

If mine, I would crop up to eliminate the first line in the snow. I don't think the extra snow adds to your story. I would also try to tone done the bright portions of the sky.

There is a good feel here; needs to be further captured.
    Cheers, Jay
