    Default Crowned Lapwing fly past

Another of the lapwing fly past this one with wings up. The lapwing had flown up from a light grassy BG into a dark treeline BG. Manual mode worked well !

Hand held about a 60% crop added canvas front and top as well as upper primary which was clipped.

    Pieter:

Good job on canvas extension and primary repair.

    Nice calling pose.

He is a bit past you, but the head angle is back a bit this way, which helps.

Just a little noise creeping in, not objectionable to me

    Cheers

    Randy

You did well with the relatively harsh light and shadows. Best for this would have been the wings fully down. I am no fan of the near-wing position....

The subject pops against the dark BG and I like the calling pose, if this was mine I would darken the brighter areas on the bird

Pieter, the lapwing pops nicely against the darker BG, and well placed in the frame. Typical 'screeching' pose, with an open beak.
