Created in 2004 while on a trip in Kenya. Wth all that has been going on in the news lately I decided to go back through some of my files from the Masai Mara and this is one of my favorites as it took many tries to finally capture one with the top crest up and out in the open.

    Nikon D2X, Nikon 600mm F4, ISO 250, 1/350, F11. this was taken from a jeep using a bean bag.

Great image all around, maybe just a tad brighter?

Fantastic image! I like the light and the low angle! The level of the "lighness" or "darkness" of the image is obviously up to once perceptions. I prefer a bit darker images so this one looks great to me :)

Wonderful image, I would prefer just a hint more brightness to bring out the details in the black plumage, Judy Lynn.
The bird certainly displays some "attitude"--nice!

I love the full bird in the frame, not easy with a bird this size Judy Lynn. I lalso like the late day or early morning light, The pose is great.

This bird has an air of arrogance in this photograph (I mean this in a good way). I might prefer a bit more room in front of it - but still nice as is.

What a birdie, talk about attitude :)

A bit more room on front, but with the length of his tail you would need a pano format ;)
