This merganser was on the same lake with the line of cormorants I posted earlier (different time of day). I used Fractalius blended with soft light, then Topaz Adjust Photo Pop, then dup layer with Difference blend, and I painted the bg brown and used a recessed frame.

Thanks for looking. Comments and suggestions appreciated.

I think the HA is just fine, Cheryl. Very nice reflection and BG color. I especially love how the bird's wake extends into the frame. Well done.

Sweet Cheryl, I love it! HA doesn't bother me. I really like the different look you got and the sense of motion. He's really motoring!

IMO, I think this was probably much better as the original capture.

You REALLY have to know what a hoodie looks like to have any idea from this image.....

Love the reflection and the wake over the border, Cheryl! Your processing/comp is great and it's so cool that our minds "fill in" the water. Neat border/eye color.

Cheryl, I like the wake and the way it goes out of the frame. The reflection is neat too!

Very calming effect. I really like the way you extended the wake.

Very nice, Cheryl. I love the wake here... nice reflection and the eye really shines in this composition.

I like the chocolate brow color, the comp and the framing is very nice!
