This parrot didn't seem to mind the rain in Costa Rica! And we had our fair share of it on the really great workshop with Doug Brown and Greg Basco. C&C encouraged and greatly appreciated.

Rain adds a lot to the image! I especially like the water drops on his shoulder Good job with DOF. I would give the bird more room on the right side and move it up a bit.

Were you in a covered blind? If not, it looks like you got really wet!

I like the rain and rain drops.

I agree with some more space on the right of the bird.

I agree about room on right, but would only add a touch more. Perfect choice on flash settings. The rain really makes the mood here. Excellent detail and colors as well.

The falling rain and drop accumulation on the plumage make this image very special. A bit more room at right, as already mentioned, would be great. I love the green on green and the psychedelic eye

Thank you all and I am not surprised at the need for more room on the right side...alas, there is none to be had unless I do some photoshop magic. We were photographing on a deck with cover so only needed to back up a bit to stay out of the wind blown raindrops!

Lovely image Katie! You've demonstrated nicely that you don't need great light to capture fantastic bird images. I do agree with the suggestions about a bit more canvas on the right. Glad you had a good time in the workshop!
