One more from last years trip to the Mara. Cleaned up a twig here and there.

I like the composition here and don't mind the animals in the background. Would be interested to know what the dark banding is across the base of the mound of earth which goes across the two cheetah cubs on the left … does anyone else see it?

    Certainly a photogenic family.

    Lovely family pose!
You had the same problem I had Stephen in trying to get ALL 7 in the frame, there was always one little one who wouldn't play ball. And I think it was always the same little one who always held back and on one occasion became lost for an hour, remembering mum's frantic calls to find it.
I see two dark lines of banding here Hilary, quite odd and not sure what it could be? Initially I thought it maybe tyre tracks buy it's evident across the 2 cubs lower left? Any ideas Stephen?

Handsome group caught all in good poses. I like the one behind mom with just the face showing.

Lovely image well captured. I like the oof animals at the BG. The composition looks spot on to me however, my eyes tend to view this image from the centre to the left - treating the right side almost as an empty space.

    Stephen,

A great family image BG is no problem at all, I like the "I do not need to be with Mum" cub.

The banding is odd probably old tyre tracks, but having spotted it (not distracting) I also noted the far stranger dark patch on the rear of the cub on the LHS (as viewed).

Not that any of this pixel peeping detracts from the image. I am picking up bad habits:eek:

Thanks for the responses guys. I also noted the banding and couldn't figure out what it was. Checked my history and saw two brush marks that evidently slipped in somehow??

    Will fix.

Great image. I too like the one peeking out from next to mom. Color looks good and I like the comp.

lovely scene of this epic cheetah family Stephen
I like the gnus in the BG, and see Ofer's point about the RHS - cropping would however make it too square for my tastes so I'd leave it :)
