Beautiful breeding plumage and excellent exposure control. I love the clouds. Just a slight head turn.

    Stuart:

The light angle here really gave great definition to the feathers, with good exposure on your part as well.

The aigrettes are remarkable, good color in lores. Clouds add a lot.

As mentioned by Ofer, a bit of head turn our way would have been a plus.

One of my favorites of yours.

    Cheers

    Randy

A very nice show of the whites in nature Stuart. Getting that detail in the feathers is no easy feat. For me, putting the bird about 10% further to the left would have been preferable. I am looking at some cloud detail below and in front of the right wing and wonder if the shapes are natural or if there might be some processing artifacts - they don't seem to fit with the general cloud detail.

Excellent exposure and nice spread of the wings showing good detail. However cloning of the sky is evident with repeat patterns showing and a straight edge appearing in a cloud...so a little more work required to improve image.

Although bird the bird is flying away, which is not ideal, the placement of the bird in your composition and the lighting on the bird's head makes it OK for me.

Lovely concept. I love the ruffled ferathers on the wings. Great breeding colours and plumes. Althoug I would have preferred a head turn aour way a bit more I still like it as is...flying away towards the heavens I agree something seems odd in the cloud patterns at the wingtip and upwards from there.

Nice detail and control of the whites. Great pose, head angles more inward would be better but all in all a great shot.
