    Default Hwange Elephants

Looking through some old images and having a play with the B&W.

    Makalolo, Hwange National Park.

Cropped - a little off the top for a more Pano feel.

    Interested to know your thoughts.

i would crop this to the two elephants in the lead. Make the crop at a point so that the space at the left edge (to front elephants eye) is the same as the middle elephant's ear at the right edge.

I would also do a shadow/highlight adjustment to open up the shadows.

Great low perspective adds real power to this image. Well done.

Would agree with comments made by Robert. The cut in half elephant doesn't add to the strength of the image, and it has strength in spades given the low POV. The b & w conversion looks a bit muddy to me and perhaps Robert's suggestion regarding shadow/highlights will reduce that effect somewhat.
Love the trunk on the leading elephant.

Nice low POV and good detail....Must be a tough conversion as the sky in the BG looks quite bright...Overcast maybe?

This would have been a killer image if you had the all 3rd Ele in frame and the BG Ele on the first not in shot.
Love the low perspective here Russell.

I have to agree with regard to the "half Elephant", getting rid of it would also remove the rather large ET below. The detail is not very strong on my monitor.

Were you out of the car?

how did you get so low?
I agree on the suggested crop and also on opening up the shadows some more...

Thanks for all your comments. Will certainly repose a crop tomorrow.

The conversion was tough as the sun had just set and the image was heavily underexposed. Will see what more PP I can do there, perhaps some better recovery work.

This was the best interaction shot, though the worse exposure wise.

As for the low angle, I was laying flat on the ground next to the vehicle.
