Ken, Nice high key BG and I like the composition and the diagonal position of the rose. The texture is unique and it's interesting that you made it yourself! I like the lines in the top leaf most especially!!![]()
Hey Ken, nice comp and effects you created. Love the look of this against the white background. Very nice!
Very cool source and use of your own texture, Ken. The combo with your rose is lovely.![]()
Love the colors and composition of the rose, Ken. Nice texture, though I might reduce its opacity a tad. I like the look with the high-key BG. Well done.
Really lovely, Ken. The texture on the rose is quite beautiful.
I like the image but have never used a texture in my life, how do you apply the texture?
The rose and leaves will done, angle works...nice work
It's pretty easy in Photoshop. Here's the abbreviated version:
Open your photo and a photo you want to use as a texture and place them side by side in Photoshop. Click on the texture photo and select it (crtl + a), select the Move Tool and while holding down the shift key, click on the texture and drag and release it on top of the main photo. You don't have to use the shift key but using it will center the texture on top of the main photo. You'll now have the texture as a new layer on top of your main photo. Using free transform (ctrl + T), adjust the size of the texture layer to match the original and hit enter. Now play with the opacity and blend modes of the textured layer.
Here's a link to the one I used.

There's more to it than just this but you should be able to figure it out by playing around and having some fun!
Ken,
I love the composition, the colors and the shape of the rose. Your texture takes it over the top. Beautifully done. If it were mine, I might try to tone down the two brighter areas in the upper two leaves.
