These small green Toucanets are always a treat to see in the tropics :)
My group this year in Ecuador had phenomenal opportunities to photograph them on several occasions...

    Camera Model: Canon EOS 7D
    Shutter speed: 1/125 sec
    Aperture: 5.6
    ISO: 400
    Focal length: 500mm + 1.4x

In case anyone is keen to see more Ecuador images from this years trip I have added a gallery on my site - http://www.glennbartley.com/natureph...uador2011.html

Beautiful image Glenn! I like the feather detail, sharpness and setting in this one.

    Great bird, excellent eye contact,
the front trunk could get out of the way,
but overall fantastic for a tropical forest image.

Beautiful capture Glenn. Even after spending 4 days in Costa Rica at a place called El Toucanet I didn't get a look at one of these! The colors are spot on and brought out perfectly in your processing.
