    I took this on a recent trip to Costa Rica. Saw this guy on this nice perch and quickly interrupted breakfast to grab this image I don't think these guys are usually in the open like this. The bit of vegetation on the bottom covering the tail bothers me, but I couldn't do any better. Virutally full frame, hand held. C&Cs welcome.

    Details: Shutter speed: 1/200 sec, Aperture: 5, Exposure mode: Av, Exposure compensation: +1 1/3, Flash: Off, Metering mode: Evaluative, Drive mode: Continuous
    ISO: 400, Lens: EF300mm f/4L IS USM.

    Good job seeing an opportunity and working to capture it.

    Soft light, well exposed. I might be tempted to crop it such that you get rid of part of the branch in the extreme RUC. Clone out the leaf on top edge, and consider a modest crop in from the left, leaving a modest amount of greenery in LLC.

    The Crested Guans I saw where always high in the trees and not in the open. I like Randys suggestions. Well done Christoph!

    Love the eye contact, and that red is just great.
    Agree with Randy about the crop, the tail tip too.
    Very nice image, in any case.
