Hello, shot this evening at a local sanctuary. Hopefully some of the last snow background shots of the season. Thanks for looking and do appreciate the comments!

Nicely exposed. I like the slight blurring of the wingtips.

    Gary:

Lovely soft afternoon light, full forward extension, tucked feet, slight bank towards us to show the ventral surface of the back wing.

I have the sense that she is just a bit past you, but very close.

Interesting capitalization scheme in your Sig.

    Cheers

    Randy

Love the soft light exposure and wings-down capture, Gary. Excellent detail on wings, mantle, and I also like the slight blur of the primaries. Neutral BG gives this one a wintertime feel.

Smoking pose and wing position. Love the head position and angle. EXP perfect. With the far primaries razor sharp it would seem that the unsharp near primaries are a result of not enough d-o-f field rather than subject movement. I am tempted to say that I would have preferred the near wing fully sharp but realize that that would not have been practical.....

Lots of variables, but the thing that makes me think that she is just past is that the near wing primaries extend slightly further to the right than the rear. There can lots of other factors such as how much she banking towards you, are wings equally extended, etc. but that is what it looks like to me.

Very nice image and no one else commented on it, so probably just me!

    Cheers

    Randy

Thanks Randy appreciate the time. It is very hard to tell if she is past me or not. Just curious, as we have talked before I do not want bird rump shots

If anything the bird might be 1/2 inch past your position. It is not at all a rump shot :)
