Image created last week on the Long Island sound. Sound was nice and flat with small waves breaking at the shoreline. I was interested in the strength of the gull as he withstood the breaking waves, sometimes even diving into them to forage for food. (More images to follow)
The bird does look pretty nonplussed about that big wave heading towards him. The tension created by our expectations of the wave crashing into the bird is effective.
Soft light, sharp.
From a comp standpoint, I might consider moving the bird to the right a sliver, adding back in a bit below if you have it, and taking a bit off the top.
Thanks, Randy! I took some off the bottom because the wave was oof due to limited dof and rather ugly in fact. And I didn't want his (or her) tail any closer to the edge than it already is. I see what you're going for and I think you will like some later on in this series :)
Nice wave and EXP but bird needs more room below and a better head angle....
