Yesterday I was going up the stairs and noticed my daughter's stuffed animal, Lovie Bear, who has been her constant companion since birth, laying on top of her new high heeled shoes for the father/daughter dance tonight. Elizabeth is almost eleven, and it really struck me as a time of transition. Very sobering in a way. Certainly filled me with complex emotions. I moved the items to a more even background for the photo, but the message is still there.

What a touching image Randy. You must have many wonderful memories of what happened between the times Elizabeth received the objects in the photo. Doesn't time fly?

And college will be next. Are you saving for it?

Very poignant image Randy. I'm going through similar times with my daughter, who's about to graduate from high school. Emotional issues aside, I've got to figure out how to pay for college and the new Canon supertelephoto lenses!

I love this image and what it also means to me. My daughter has just turned 13 and also has the same 'lovie bear' … must be twins. We also have the transition into heels. The same items and we live on the opposite side of the world. The world's a small place.

How well I know those emotions. So well captured, Randy.

    Hey Randy,
Very nicely handled and a great storyteller indeed! Know that she will always be daddy's girl!
