    Default Theme: Double-crested Cormorant

    A light wind brought up the double crests, the sunlight enhanced the jewel-toned colors and the straight-on glare gave this fellow a somewhat sinister look. C&C greatly appreciated.

    Canon 7D; f7.1, 1/800; ISO 400; 100-400 @400mm

    Oh, Katie, that is a beautiful image -- the crop, the pose . . . I know this species is presenting many knotty problems, but I like them anyway . . .

    Those eyes look mesmerizing! I like how the feathers are blowing in the wind.

    Well, it surely got some bling in its eyes. Agree with the prior suggestion to crop a bit more from the bottom. JR

    Wow, I really like this presentation. The "twisted neck" is nice. The bird's eyes remind me of aviator goggles.

    Thank you all for your kind words; cormorants are a favorite of mine, so I was pretty happy with the look here. And I agree that it needs a little more off the bottom.
