    Default Fine fangs

… for want of a better title!
We were lucky with our cheetah sightings in the Mara area with 12 different cats photographed in the week we were there. Add to that the 3 we saw in Laikipia and we were certainly blessed by them on this trip.

This mother and daughter were found soon after I photographed the wildebeest with egrets, still fairly early morning (7.38am) in the Mara North Conservancy. Soon after I took this photo the two of them moved to a nearby tree and settled down to sleep, both with very full bellies.

Hilary - those are some fine fangs. I keep looking at this image and cannot decide if the oof cheetah adds or detracts from the image for me. I think I would prefer it in if you were a little more to the right but from this perspective it's all about the in focus cheetah. The color, light and open grass location all make this stronger.

    Rachel

I see Rachel's point Hilarye. If the OOF cat was facing youj and more left in the frame, I would say great. Here I think the main subject stands on it's own and would crop out the OOF cat.

Love the lighting and low perspective here Hilary, but do agree that as it stands the OOF cat is a little distracting and cramped for space all round.

I agree about the OOF Cheetah, I think it brings little to the image, I would crop it out if IQ allows.

Almost full frame so can crop out the juvenile cheetah … just like that it will be gone, poor thing.

Lovely pose...I like the OOF Cheetah, really adds to the balance of the image and the pano crop works nicely

I like your thinking here, but agree that in this case the OOF one needed to either be facing you or profiled distinctly sideways :)

Yes they are. I like the wedge shaped profile of the main subject. Don't mind the left one being OOF but personally would like to see the face or a better profile view.
