Hello everyone. Well I was able to capture these cormorants right before the sun went down. Hope you enjoy. C&C welcomed and encouraged.

Usually I don't prefer side lighting and birds with turning away head angle, however this one do help set the mood nicely so I won't mind. I like your choice of composition as well, the OOF birds help balance the image nicely and your choice of pano crop is good. I might try to lighten the shadow side of the in focus bird a bit, but not too much.
Hi Rober- I think in this case you have to imagine what could have been. Think of these three birds with beautiful golden light evenly illuminating them, the sun being behind you rather than to one side as was the case here. The side lighting has presented an impossible image to your sensor with much too much dynamic range, which only lead to compromises. The left sides of the birds look well exposed but the sides in shadow are blocked and show little detail. The image would be a lot stronger with the front bird looking towards you rather than away.
Nice warm lighting on these birds. I may have moved to the right and isolated just the bird that is focus, as I am not sure the "as-shot" composition is working for me, b/c there is a lot of blank space to the left. I really like the point of view (i.e. down low) that you have shot.
