Hey everyone, 1st post here, although I know many of you from past places. So Hi!

Anyway, this is one of those shots that I played with while waiting for "something good" to happen. I've played with different crops, but keep ending up here in the as shot version. All critique is welcome and I don't mind hard criticism, I've got thick skin.

    Nikon D300, 70-200VR, F4, 1/3200.

    Cheers,
    Jeff

Gorgeous Egret, I would crop some of the dead space from the left.

Great exposure. I love the feather detail and that beautiful green lore.

Welcome. No thick skin needed as this is a lovely image. EXP and head angle perfect and a killer bird. If it fits with your personal ethics you might do a bit of clean-up on the bill.

Wonderful whites and I really like how the green around the eye shows so well.

Hey Jeff... good to see you over here at BPN! What a great first post of a beautiful bird, I think I've seen that red-eyed beauty somewhere before. ;)

Robert - I'll play with the left side and see what happens. Thank you.

Artie - thanks, and a bit of "gardening" is well within my ethics.

Mike - Yes, you likely have seen this bird... :-)

    Cheers,
    Jeff
