    Default Cedar Waxwing

Take a week ago, this waxwing landed in a relatively open area...something they don't do too often here. Cloned out a distracting twig that was almost touching the throat. I actually liked the shadows here and left them as is.

Very pretty colors and love the pose and the sharpness.

I agree the shadows look fine to me.

I see a couple of hotspots near the tail, not blown just hot. If you darkened them it would balance better with the rest of the image.

Dan I like the pose and the head turn. There appears to be a fairly straight pale blue line running fronm teh bottom of the frame to to the throat. It that where the cloning was done?

Thanks Stephen. That pale streak was already there from the start. It was a very thin twig and I left a little "stubby" on the branch where the twig was. It ran straight up, pretty much aligned underneath the eye.

Nicely done with a great head angle. A crop from the right to eliminate the vertical twig would be a plus.
