Was a really tough time of day....Light was from the side and it was almost dark. Our sun sets about 5:30 - 5:45 in the winter...I upped the exposure to get a brighter image which in turn dropped SS...Pushed the ISO to try get a bit more SS. Handheld from drivers seat of game viewer.

I like the soft light and space here Dumay...
the gaze is also compelling, and I think you handled the high ISO very well here

I like that we have a view through OOF foliage, enhancing the cat's nature, but it doesn't obstruct the face

maybe tone down the green channel overall just a tad?

Fantastic pose and IQ Dumay. A great looking Male, if I am correct. I like the rock and don't mind the OOF foliage in the forground. TFS

Prefer the OP here Dumay, as the colours look more 'natural, although viewed on my laptop at present.

The OOF foliage is slightly distracting, but then it's all personal preference, however has there been any work done on the LHS of the leopard as viewed? Certainly the pose & composition looks good and I like the resting stance.

Great image, I prefer the OP.

Errant foliage does not bother me at all, it is after all taken in the wild!!

    Dumay,

I like the pose and the expression. OP looks ok to me color-wise.

Nice portrait and great clarity in those eyes. Don't mind the OOF FG foliage much but the difference between the more distant, lighter, and less detailed BG on the left (as viewed) and how it lines up with the leopard's body divides this image strongly in half to my eye. Some slight darkening and contrast tweaks on the left side reduced the effect without affecting the great light on the leopard.

Dumay - I too prefer the color of the OP. Great gaze and paw position. You handled the waning light and high ISO well.

    Rachel
