Okay, I know that the Herons HA is not ideal and the shooting angle was too steep but I could not pass up that relection. Taken near Jamestown, VA, Sony A700, 70-400G, f5.6, 1/500, iso400, +1.0ec. Slight crop, small amount of sharpening on bird, S/H on reflection.

Peter, I agree, that reflection is incredible. and I think the ha on the reflection should satisfy the hap. I've never seen this heron from this angle before - love the detail of the dark feathers on the head and the loose feathers on the back. beautiful.

The angle doesn't bother me. I know it's not the classical "catch the eye" shot, but it is an interesting angle--and I think the main focus is that reflection, anyway. I like it.

    Peter-
I agree with Pat and Hazel about HA "non-issue" as the story is the reflection and the higher shooting position is required to make it so. Background is complimentary the the reflection is quite sharp. Nicely done. Alex
